Hello
everyone. I would like to share a piece of my life and my story with
everyone. My name is Connie. The summer of 2000 I found myself a
single mother and weighing 300 pounds. I was lonely, depressed and,
what is worse, I was in great physical danger from my excess weight.
I couldn't move, couldn't run or play with my children, and couldn't
ride at an amusement park with them. In short I had no life that was
worth living.
I
researched weight loss surgery and decided to go to a surgeon at
UPMC here in Pittsburgh. He said I was a perfect candidate and my
surgery date was set. That December I had my surgery.
By
that March I started working out, something that has become a part
of my life now and also something I know I will have to continue
forever. I weight train mostly and have managed to keep as firm as
possible after losing 160 pounds. I am hoping to get a
"tuck" here and there but for the most part I look and
feel amazing.
I
can run with my girls, get on a plane and ride a roller coaster!
Life is a joy. Shopping is a thrill and I have never regretted
having the surgery for a moment. It has transformed my life in ways
I never thought possible. There are so many things thin people take
for granted. Shaving my legs is even a task I don't mind now. I can
do it with such ease! What a joy.
As
silly as it sounds I know those of you who have been where I was and
have lost a great amount of weight can relate. Unless you have been
there you just can’t imagine. Enclosed are some before and after
photos. Best wishes to all and
remember that life is just simply too short to live it fat!
