Diana Mora

March 1, 2002
Diana of Philadelphia, PA had her surgery on June 22, 2001
and has lost 100 pounds. At 284 pounds, she was a
prisoner in her body and home. She didn't do much
outside of her home except for gardening, which was tough
enough. Since her surgery, her back doesn't hurt as much,
the pain in her knees is gone, and she can go to a movie
theater and sit in the seat comfortably. She started taking
sewing classes, and feels absolutely great, because she's
not the heaviest person in the class, and her patterns don't
have to be special ordered. She feels free from the
chains of food obsessing, and overeating. Her youngest
daughter will never know her mommy was ever morbidly obese.
She can play with her and not get winded. She can pick
her up and walk up the stairs without feeling that she's not
going to make it. Her confidence is high, and she knows that
she deserves this. Send your congratulations to Diana at dmora10867@aol.com

Pat of Clay, NY has lost 140 pounds since her Feb. 28th,
2001 surgery. Pat says this surgery has been a total life
change for her. She has always been very athletic, but she
found herself watching from the sidelines instead of
participating. She was missing out on the things she
loved the most. After a loss of 140 pounds, she is now
playing ice hockey on an all women's team and is looking
forward to this summer when she will be playing softball
instead of watching. She can fit into a booth at a
restaurant. Pat used to panic when she was seated and then
the waitresses would seem to pack people around her.
The rest of the meal she would look around and try to figure
out how she was going to get out. She doesn't have to
worry about that anymore. She just went on a long walk
with 2 friends in the woods with their dogs. She felt
great, and she wasn't winded or in any pain. It was
wonderful. Her friends look at her and say "hey
look, you can cross your legs." What a great
feeling. Pat is looking forward to a long, healthy, and
happy life because of the choice she made to change her
life. Send congratulations to Pat at psulli48@yahoo.com

I had lost 178pounds. Now it is the end of 14 months and I
have lost an amazing 205 pounds and I am still losing.
My goal is to lose 305 pounds. The surgeon said that I
am carrying around about 40 pounds of hanging skin and I
will be more than grateful to have that removed. I am
in school now, am changing careers and my life is the best!
I am happier than I ever can remember being. Thank you

January 6, 2002
Karen of Phoenix, AZ had her surgery on May 9, 2001 and has
lost 101 pounds. Karen says her life has changed so much.
She was often sick before her surgery. Karen had
pneumonia, fractured a rib coughing, walked with a cane from
bad knees, had esophageal reflux, shortness of breath with
even the slightest exertion, insulin dependent diabetes and
she feared she wouldn't live to see 55 years of age.
Karen can do things now she hasn't done in ages. She no
longer uses a cane and is no longer insulin dependent. She
can walk longer and harder with no shortness of breath and
feels her surgery saved her life. Karen turned 55 in
September and is looking forward to a lot more years and
about 80 more pounds lost. Send best wishes to Karen at rngranny@home.com

Vincent Williams
Before / After

January 1, 2002
Vincent had his surgery on July 16, 2001 and has lost 140
pounds. Vincent says it is SOOOO hard to sum it up in a few
words how life is different. He can move, sleep, exercise,
sit Indian style, and put his shoes on without turning blue!
He doesn't ache after work and can fit into all his clothes
from 5 years ago. It has also given Vincent a more
positive attitude and better self esteem. Vincent is
eternally grateful to Dr. Fisher and "the group"
for being with him through this and words cannot describe
how he feels about Scott, his #1 support person. Celebrate
with Vincent at kingtorg@hotmail.com

Karen of Winter Park, FL had her surgery July 24, 2001 and
has lost 100 pounds. Karen's life at 343 pounds and
5'2" and with a BMI of 62.7 was extremely limited. She
huffed and puffed and gasped for breath for most any
activities. She had high blood pressure, asthma, a
severe arthritic knee which caused her to walk with a can,
sleep apnea and the beginnings of diabetes and heart
disease. She averaged 9 medications a day and was only
50 years old. Everyone thought that she was her
daughter's grandmother. Now even though she is a little more
than half way along her weight loss journey she no longer
walks with a cane, the sleep apnea machine is a thing of the
past and she is on only 2 medications, 1 for asthma and 1
for her arthritic knee. She no longer dreads getting
up in the morning and praying, just praying she won't have
to go anywhere or do anything because she was so heavy. Life
was a chore. Today she is up and ready, getting
dressed and leaving the house hoping she can meet one of her
gal friends for lunch. Her life after just 100 pounds
has changed dramatically. Send Karen congratulations at amangham@cfl.rr.com
