Success has been achieved --- even if there is still another 75 lbs to go. Susan says the tool works because she works the tool (and the program).  It takes dedication, motivation, and discipline.  The surgery makes it do-able. Congratulate Susan at  Shuntz11@aol.com

Nancy Hartmann Nancy had RNY surgery on Jan. 4, 2001 performed by my surgeon, Dr. Schauer, and has lost 114 pounds already.  She hasn't been her current weight since the 6th grade. But the best part of all is how much healthier she is.  Nancy had 17 morbidities going into her surgery. She had extremely bad heart disease, high blood pressure, and the need for hip and knee replacements.  Well, the hospital staff watched her like a hawk. Now, between her cardiologist and the surgeons, she is straightened out.  She has a pace maker now that she has lost so much weight and it keeps her heart in rhythm. Nancy wants to reassure pre-op patients that are afraid of surgery that they will be watched like a hawk and all problems will be addressed.  Send congratulations to Nancy at hartmannj@msx.upmc.edu

It never healed properly and she was unable to continue working. Her weight went up to 350 lbs. She was sick, depressed, and literally dying. A friend in her church had this operation and began losing weight amazingly. Her sister urged me to consider it. This has been a life saver for her. Fran feels alive again, and is thinner than she has been for 30 years! She eats protein, drinks lots of fluid, and rarely feels hungry. She has spent this summer swimming in her pool, doing her gardening, and whatever else she wants. Although limited in her walking, she has been able to do more each week. She is having a ball. Send Fran congratulations at drfranyoung1@home.com
